Burford is often called the “Gateway to the Cotswolds” and is one of the most charming small towns in the region. Its beautiful medieval high street slopes gently down toward the River Windrush and is lined with honey-coloured stone buildings that date back hundreds of years. You’ll have time to stroll through the town, browse traditional shops and antiques stores, visit the impressive 15th-century St John the Baptist Church, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic market town before continuing deeper into the Cotswolds.

Dating back to the 14th century, these historic weavers’ cottages sit beside a gentle stream and create one of the most photographed scenes in the Cotswolds. You’ll have time to wander along the river, take photos of the iconic cottages, and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting that has inspired artists and photographers for generations.

Tetbury is also close to Highgrove, the private residence of King Charles III.
