Learn about Shams of Tabriz, a wandering Sufi mystic and Rumi’s spiritual mentor, whose meeting with Rumi in the 13th century transformed him and inspired his world-famous poetry and philosophy. Next, visit the İplikçi Mosque, one of Konya’s oldest and most historically important Seljuk mosques, closely linked to Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi. Then, admire the Aziziye Mosque, one of Konya’s most striking Ottoman-era mosques, famous for its Baroque-style architecture. Continue to the Historical Bedesten Bazaar, the commercial heart of the old city, where trade has continued almost uninterrupted for centuries. Then, visit the Sultan Selim Mosque, one of Konya’s most impressive Ottoman mosques, built right next to the Mevlana Complex and symbolizing Ottoman respect for Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.

Then, take a panoramic city sightseeing tour, passing by the Taş Bina Museum, a historic Seljuk–Ottoman stone building in Konya, today used as a cultural and exhibition space closely connected with the Mevlana area. Finally, visit Ateşbaz-ı Veli, the Cook-Chef of Mevlana Rumi, one of the most symbolic figures of the Mevlevi Order, representing humility, discipline, and spiritual transformation through service.
