Lake Kawaguchi is the most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, renowned for its stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji from the shore. It has the longest shoreline among the Fuji Five Lakes. On a calm, clear day, you can see a perfect mirror image of Mount Fuji reflected in the water. In 2013, the lake was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.
⏱ 20 min - 2
Oishi Park is a beautiful scenic area where you can enjoy a stunning view of flowers, Lake Kawaguchi, and the majestic Mt. Fuji all at once. The lakeside promenade features various flowers that bloom according to the season. On the west side of the park, the "350-meter-long Flowers Road" offers a vibrant display of colorful blooms throughout the year. At the end of Flowers Road, you'll find Kochia (summer cypress) that flourishes from summer to autumn, making it a popular photo spot. Throughout the year, the park showcases 90 different types of seasonal flowers, with various blooms visible at any given time. As you stroll along the promenade surrounded by flowers and gazing at Mt. Fuji, you'll feel a sense of tranquility.
⏱ 20 min - 3
Lake Yamanaka, which is called "Swan Lake," is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, located near Mount Fuji in Japan. It is the closest lake to Mount Fuji among the Fuji Five Lakes, and the view of the mountain over the lake is spectacular. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the lakeside, where you can encounter swans gliding and resting at the lake’s edge, a tranquil experience amidst the scenic beauty. On clear days, the stunning phenomenon known as "upside-down Fuji," where Mount Fuji is reflected on the lake's surface, is truly breathtaking.
⏱ 20 min - 4
Oshino Hakkai is a village known for its eight clear spring water ponds, which are recognized as one of the "Top 100 Famous Waters of Japan." It is classified as a Natural Monument and is part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji. As the water filters down through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, it results in exceptionally clear spring water that the locals deeply value. Visitors can taste this magical spring water for free, feel its sweetness and purity, and experience the legend of longevity.
